Plumbing repairs and replacements.

Ask about leaking or worn fittings, replacement taps and toilets, or pipework for a kitchen or bathroom refit. Say whether the problem is constant or only happens when a fitting is used; that helps identify what needs inspecting.

Repairs, fittings and pipework

  • Tap, sink and toilet replacements
  • Repairs to accessible plumbing and connections
  • Pipework for relocated kitchen or bathroom fittings
  • Radiator connections within a heating or renovation project

Find the cause before replacing the finish

Water marks do not always reveal where a leak begins. The affected fitting, nearby connections and access need checking before repair work is priced. If access means lifting flooring or opening a wall, ask for the pipe repair and restoration of the wall or floor to be listed separately.

What can change the price?

Access to the pipework

A visible connection is a different job from pipework behind tiles, cabinets or a finished floor.

The replacement fitting

Send the product reference before buying; connections, dimensions and the existing water supply need checking.

Repairs to surrounding surfaces

Plaster, tiling, flooring and decoration may need attention after the plumbing repair.

Questions about this work

Does the quote include repairing tiles or flooring?

Check the written inclusions. Opening a surface to reach a pipe and restoring its finish are separate tasks; neither should be assumed from a price for plumbing alone.

Can a replacement tap or toilet go in the same position?

Often, but the new fitting still needs compatible connections and enough clearance. Send its specification with photographs of the existing installation.

What should I record about an intermittent leak?

Note which appliance or fitting was in use, where the water appeared and whether the problem returns. Avoid disturbing concealed pipework to gather this information.
